Some are calling it a man-made disaster fed by the corporate greed and disregard to the nature’s power while some are accepting it as a bad blow of fate. Whatever the approach we take, the recent tragedy in the hill state of Uttarakhand (India), specifically at the Kedarnath valley is heart breaking. Having personally witnessed the awe inspiring magnificence of the place only last year, it is hard to believe that it will never be the same again.

I pray for the welfare of those still trapped at various locations. Let us hope that this is a lesson governments take to implement ever better measures in ecological preservation and disaster preparedness and citizens as well as tourists take to respect the sanctity of these places by being more responsible.
